About the age category: Student (19 to 26 years of age)

The Student category includes all passengers from 19 to 26 years of age who study on a high school or at a college in the Czech Republic.

The fare

Within Prague, students can use approx. 50% discount on season tickets. To acquire a season ticket a student needs to have a chip card or PID pass "Student" with confirmation from the school.

The beginning of validity must be between August, 15 and November, 1.

These season tickets are valid in the whole area of Prague in all transport means and on all PID lines (except AE) for a specified amount of time. It is necessary to own a chip card (for electronic version of the ticket) or a PID pass (for paper version of the ticket). All these season tickets are non-transferable. Season tickets for Prague can be combined with short-term or season tickets for the outer region.

These season tickets are valid in outer zones of your choosing. You can choose from the zones 0 - 7. The zones that you choose need to be adjacent. The season tickets for the outer zones can be used on suburban buses and PID trains (only integrated sections). It is necessary to own a chip card (for electronic version of the ticket) or a PID pass (for paper version of the ticket). All these season tickets are non-transferable. The season tickets for the outer region can be combined with short-term or season tickets for Prague.

In the outer region students can acquire an approx. 33% discount that is valid only for trips from/to school. More information...

Special fare for students in Central Bohemian region (outside Prague)

This discount is valid only on the way from/to school, only on school days. In order to obtain the discount, a filled-in pupil's card verified by the school and a transit operator is needed. The necessary pupil's card (orange card) can be acquired at a box office of Czech Railways, at selected contact points at metro stations, as well as in information offices of some bus operators.

The discount is provided by the Central Bohemian region only on suburban lines outside Prague and in zones 0 and B. In the zone P this discount cannot be used (however, another discounts are available here, provided by the city of Prague).

Without a valid pupil's card the discount is not available. For trips other than from/to school and for trips performed on weekends or during the school holidasy this special fare is not valid and a regular ticket must be used. Alternatively, one can buy a regular season ticket (instead of this special fare), which is more expensive, but is not limited to particular times and routes.
